Naumi Wellington Launches a New High Tea Menu with Leading Producers

Lola Rouge, the restaurant and bar at Naumi Wellington, is already one of the city’s hotspots for its delicious offerings and some of the best cocktails in town with a dramatic and playful crimson backdrop. With New Zealand now moving into the winter season, the restaurant has introduced a new High Tea Menu and cocktails that can be enjoyed as part of its new Eat, Stay and Play Package.

The Winter High Tea Menu throws all traditional High Tea notions to the wind with Asian-inspired flavours and local produce with the menu including Ōra King salmon tartare with cream cheese, kalamansi gel, dill, crispy seed cracker, pulled Lumina lamb shoulder tart with massaman mayo and micro herbs and Mushroom House sourced phoenix oyster Korokke with special kewpie mayo.

Naumi Hotels supports local suppliers and uses some of the best surrounding ingredients to elevate the flavours, including Lot Eight’s Flavours of Aotearoa Olive Oil and Ōra King, who, through New Zealand’s King Salmon programme and sustainable husbandry, have created a unique breed of salmon called Ōra King, genetically distinct from any other King salmon found in New Zealand or the world.

The lamb is supplied by Lumina Lamb, a local family-run business that prides itself on producing the world’s best lamb. Mushrooms are from Mushroom House, which strives to help New Zealand lead the world to a brighter food future, one bite at a time with mushrooms.

Those with a sweet tooth will enjoy interesting flavours such as the Lemon, kaffir lime, honey, ginger meringue tart, Grand Marnier chocolate ganache Strawberry macaroon, Gianduja & Hazelnut praline choux, Kiwi & Callebaut white chocolate opera cake and Arataki Honey, spice poached pear, almond & blackcurrant Entremet.

Even the scones have a twist with a choice of cranberry or marmalade and cheese scones served with herb butter.

The blending of sweet and bitter Asian flavours continues into the Winter Cocktails list. Try a frothy Sayonara (gin, egg white, raspberry, lime juice), aromatic Asian Herb Garden (gin, ginger liqueur, yuzu puree, coriander, lemongrass, tonic) earthy Matcha Sour (Junmai sake, vodka, matcha powder, agave syrup, egg white, lime juice or the Warm Up (dark rum, Benedictine, sherry, cold brew coffee, simple syrup) which does what it says on the tin as cold nights draw in on the North Island.

Sampling these new gourmet delights is a perfect opportunity to extend the indulgences and book onto Naumi Wellington’s newly launched Eat, Stay and Play package, which includes a NZ$100 (£50) food and b beverage credit at Lola Rouge, a welcome drink upon arrival, breakfast for two and late checkout. The Eat Stay and Play Package at Naumi Wellington starts from NZ$355 (£175) per night.
